ABOUT US

Jarvis Street Bottle Shop opened its doors in December 2016 at the corner of 3rd & Jarvis Street in Greenville, NC. Local business owner Tandi Mahn and long-time beer veteran Taylor Johnson teamed up to bring good, craft beers back to the Overton’s Supermarket, a once established hub of craft beer in Greenville. We wanted to create a local atmosphere for people to experience and enjoy craft beers, wine, and entertainment. Focusing on local breweries, while keeping the standard domestic beers, Jarvis Street Bottle Shop tries to expand their varieties daily.

WHO WE ARE

Tandi Mahn

Originally from Alexandria, VA, Tandi relocated to Greenville in 2001, attending ECU. A member of the graduating class of 2005 with a BA in Communications with a concentration in Public Relations and a minor in Multidisciplinary Studies with concentrations in Business, German, and Political Sciences, Mahn continues to invest in the city that she has come to love.

Since 2009 Tandi has been the owner of Christy’s Euro Pub, serving quality from-scratch food to the historic College View neighborhood and becoming a staple for locals of Greenville. With Christy’s Euro Pub doing so well, she partnered with her husband Jacob Wilson and neighbors & long-time friends Kristi Southern and Brad Hufford to open a new restaurant on Dickinson Avenue, to start the revitalization of Greenville’s booming downtown. Dickinson Avenue Public House opened its doors in October 2015.

Shortly after DAPHouse opened, Tandi again had the itch for business growth; she teamed up with her long time friend and General Manger of Christy’s Euro Pub to start work on Jarvis Street Bottle Shop. Together they opened the shop’s doors in December 2016.

Taylor Johnson

After growing up in Tennessee, Taylor moved to Greenville in 2007 to work on her BFA in Dance Performance, graduating from ECU in 2011. During her time in school, Taylor worked at Greenville’s first Craft Brewery, Ham’s, getting her feet wet in the craft beer world. After graduating, she started working with Tandi at Christy’s Euro Pub as a bartender and then working her way up the ladder to become General Manger. After being in the beer industry for almost 10 years, Taylor took the leap to become an owner with Tandi of Greenville’s newest specialty craft beer & wine shop.

Partner – Jessie Mahn

Sister to Tandi, Jessie grew up in Alexandria, VA, as well. She made her way to the West Coast in 1999 to start college at the University of Southern California. Jessie graduated from USC in 2003 with a BA in History and a minor in German; after which, she turned her focus on law. While at USC, Jessie was on the Dean’s List for academic excellence. She received her Juris Doctor from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles, graduating in 2009. Jessie also attended the 2007 Dublin Institute on International and Comparative Law, studying comparative civil rights and international negotiations. After getting married in 2016, Jessie made her way back to the East Coast to help open Jarvis Street Bottle Shop. With her knowledge in law, Jessie helped shape new ordinances for the city of Greenville to pave the way to open their shop.

Partner – Nora Mahn

Mother to Tandi & Jessie, Nora grew up in East Texas, graduating from Lamar University with her BS in Math; three years later she graduated with her Master’s in Math at Lamar as well. After college, Nora set out to see the world through the Peace Corps. She was in Liberia, Africa, for two years, teaching math at the University of Liberia. In 1999 she received her Master’s in Special Education from Old Dominion University. Continuing her work in education, Nora taught math and computer science at a special education high school in Fairfax, Virginia, and later went on to teach math at Columbia International University in Columbia, South Carolina, and to inmates at Camille Griffith Graham Correctional Institution

Watching Tandi grow in business over the years gave her an itch to get in the “beer game!” Nora teamed up her daughters and Taylor to help open Jarvis Street Bottle Shop.
